The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (RBG Kew) is an internationally acclaimed plant science institute, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a vibrant visitor attraction with a key role in understanding and protecting plants and fungi for the prosperity of humanity and all earthly life. In this role as a Crew Member, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Help deliver over 400 annual events, from weddings and official visits to large-scale outdoor celebrations like Christmas and Halloween.
  • Play a hands-on role in event set-up and tear down, managing temporary structures, AV equipment, and more.
  • Transport equipment across numerous venues.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Experience as event crew with superior customer service skills, delivering results in fast-paced environments.
  • A background in event rigging and de-rigging.
  • A problem-solving approach and the capacity to work on tight schedules.
  • Understanding of optimal practices, including safety requirements and competent handling of audiovisual and tech equipment.

The role: As a Crew Member in our Event Production Team, you will support the delivery of more than 400 events each year at Kew Gardens. This includes weddings, private hires, visitor programming, fundraising events, official visits, and large-scale outdoor events such as Christmas and Halloween. This is a hands-on physical role where you will be involved in the set-up and breakdown of events, managing and moving stocks of furniture, barriers, temporary structures, and AV equipment. You will also be responsible for driving and loading equipment in and out of multiple venues.

Job requirements: We are looking for experienced event crew with excellent customer service skills, who can deliver results in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment. Experience in successfully rigging and de-rigging events is essential. A solution-focused approach and the ability to work to tight timescales are crucial. An awareness of best practice in the events sector, including health and safety requirements and competent handling of audiovisual and tech equipment is desirable.
