Junior Buyer
The Role:
This is a pear-fect opportunity for an individual who is looking to move into buying from a buying support role (or similar). We're looking for a delightfully odd individual who is excited about owning their first fresh produce category and learning more about the buying function within a growing business
Primary responsibilities:
As a junior buyer, you will work as an integral part of the buying team to source wonky and surplus fresh produce for our range of fruit and vegetable boxes.
- Support the buyer and buying manager in long term supply planning
- Take ownership of a fresh produce category and support our range of add-on and packaged products
- Track financial and sustainability targets for your category
- Support reporting and analysis of wider product categories
- Visit with suppliers and other trading partners to ensure timely supply
- Collaborating with the wider sourcing team on creating innovative solutions to sourcing and buying challenges.
What we’re looking for:
- High level of numeracy and attention to detail
- The ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and suppliers
- Some knowledge of fresh produce or similar categories
- A passion to further develop your negotiation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to work to financial targets as well as tight deadlines

- Duration of role – permanent / full-time
- Location – Our office in Vauxhall offers a space to work and collaborate. You will spend about 1 day per week in the office, or our distribution centre in Croydon, along with occasional visits to our co-packer in Birmingham and other trading partners
