As a Project Assistant for the Guinea Tropical Important Plant Areas project, your role includes:
- Assisting the Research Associate in organising and supervising projects in Guinea.
- Overseeing project spending and assisting in reporting.
- Supporting and occasionally undertaking fieldwork and collecting data for TIPAs and Red List Assessments.
Prospective candidates should fulfil the following requirements:
- A Degree in biology, plant science, or environmental studies.
- Strong communication skills with proficiency in French, both written and spoken.
- Experience in handling multiple projects, field experience, and knowledge of the African flora.

The role: As a Project Assistant for the Guinea Tropical Important Plant Areas project, you will assist the Research Associate for West Africa with the organisation and supervision of projects in Guinea. You will work closely with the in-country project assistants and liaise with partners, oversee project spending, and assist in reporting the project to funders. Additionally, you will support and undertake occasional fieldwork in Guinea, collect and collate data for TIPA and Red List assessments, and assist with training and delivering workshops.
Job requirements: The ideal candidate should be educated to degree level in biology, plant science, or environmental studies. You must be highly motivated, able to work independently and as part of a small team, and possess good communication skills. Proficiency in written and spoken French is required to liaise with partners and colleagues. Experience in working on multiple projects simultaneously, field experience, and knowledge of the African flora are essential. Some knowledge of the TIPA programme and red listing experience would be advantageous. Organisational skills and good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, are also required.
