Job Description

Are you a natural relationship builder with a knack for developing fruitful partnerships and influencing key stakeholders? Got a flair for innovative traded income generation in the charity sector? Keen to put your stamp on a growing, creative, purpose-driven organisation? We are looking for a Head of Development & Partnerships to grow our membership, establish strong relationships across the sector, confidently promote our brand and value, and grow our impact for young people. A hands-on person who can see the bigger strategic picture while getting stuck in and getting stuff done.

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking an authentic, energetic, creative and determined Head of Development & Partnerships who thrives on finding creative business development solutions to solve complex social issues and enjoys leading and delivering on a breadth and variety of workstreams. You will join a forward-thinking, ambitious organisation at a critical point in our 30-year history. The post holder will have the freedom to shape the role, develop and establish fresh methodologies and gradually build a team to help sustain longer term growth. This will be a key role in securing sustainable growth to deepen and broaden our impact.

There is scope for it to be shaped by your character and experience, so we encourage you to apply even if your skills aren’t a perfect match.

Why work for us?

We are a small, energetic and innovative team who work collaboratively to maximise impact for young people. We live our values (Maverick, Savvy, Authentic, Loving and Brave) and prioritise a culture of inclusivity, equity, love and positivity ensuring that a healthy work life balance enables our staff to remain inspired and motivated.

Our working environment is organic, friendly and varied - we are the kind of organisation that encourages you to experiment and explore in your role. Therefore, you will be able to shape the role, and develop and establish fresh methodologies.

This role will give you the opportunity to work at both a strategic and operational level and gradually build a team to help sustain longer term growth.

Outline of the role:

This is a unique opportunity to influence and drive the strategic growth of the Foyer Federation by generating the revenue and investment to support our ‘Home for Advantaged Thinking’ three-year strategy.

As the Head of Development & Partnerships, you’ll use your expertise and work across the youth and housing sector to bring new organisations into our community of members. You’ll build strong and enduring relationships with a range of strategic stakeholder leads within housing associations and youth projects that provide inspirational Advantaged Thinking services to young people.

You will also work with the Chief Executive to develop national partnerships with youth sector peers, corporates, and charitable trusts and foundations to enhance our reach and influence.

You will lead on the design and implementation of an external partnership strategy to raise awareness of the Foyer Federation and Advantaged Thinking brand, increasing awareness of our work across the youth and housing sectors, and growing our reach and influence.

We are looking for someone who is creative, articulate, collaborative and commercially aware, who can provide business development leadership and strategic direction, supporting the Chief Executive to grow the organisation and identify new sources of income.

Equality and Diversity

We actively encourage people from a variety of backgrounds with different experiences, skills and stories to join us and influence and develop our working practice. By taking positive action around diversity (as permitted in the Equality Act 2010), we will guarantee interviews to eligible candidates who meet the minimum criteria (the Person Specifications laid out in the Job Pack) and self-identify with any of the following groups that we have identified as underrepresented in ours and the wider beyond-profit sector workforce:
