The Woodland Trust, the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity, is currently seeking a dedicated Forestry and Harvesting Manager. This role is home-based and requires travel within Wales and occasionally throughout the UK.
- As a Forestry and Harvesting Manager, your primary duties include: supervising the planning, preparation, and delivery of forestry operations in Wales; managing tree safety, timber mensuration, and infrastructure projects; and ensuring adherence to FSC certification and the organisation's health and safety policies.
- Job requirements include: previous experience in forestry and land management, particularly with high conservation importance sites; proficiency in drafting and reviewing harvesting plans, managing tree safety, and handling tree pests and diseases; a solid understanding of planning consents, felling licenses, and regulatory requirements; a HND/Degree in forestry, land management, or a related field or equivalent experience; and a valid driving license.

We are currently seeking a Forestry and Harvesting Manager to join our team in Wales. This is a homebased position that requires regular travel across Wales and occasionally other parts of the UK.
The role: As a Forestry and Harvesting Manager, you will work closely with our Site Managers to oversee the planning, preparation, and delivery of forestry operations across the Woodland Trust's estates in Wales. This includes managing tree safety, timber mensuration, and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for ensuring all activities comply with our FSC certification and adhere to the Woodland Trust's health and safety policies.
Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have experience in forestry and land management, particularly on sites of high conservation importance. You should be skilled in writing and reviewing harvesting plans, managing tree safety, and dealing with tree pests and diseases. A strong understanding of planning consents, felling licenses, and other regulatory requirements is essential. You must hold a HND/Degree in forestry, land management, or a related field, or have significant demonstrable experience. A full driving license is required, and a company vehicle will be provided.
