About the team

The WaterAid Global People & Organisational Development team (The People Team) plays a critical role in helping WaterAid realise its goals. We lead on the development of strategies that ensure that WaterAid people are aligned and engaged with our aims and objectives, and that they have the skills and opportunities to maximise the impact they can make. 

About the role

Among your many challenges, you will be supporting hiring managers' needs throughout the recruitment process, both in the UK and globally. You'll also play a key part in advising and signposting staff to the intranet and, where appropriate, refer them to the relevant team member within the wider directorate. You'll be supporting the Payroll Officer with the monthly pay run and related queries, inputting payroll data and supporting the leavers' process as well as managing and triaging all internal and external queries received into our shared mailboxes, via phone call and face to face. Maintaining office systems and ensuring our HRIS database is updated is fundamental, as is working with the People Operations Lead to develop reporting through PeoplePlace and other relevant systems and surveys. These are just some aspects of this interesting, varied and vital role that will give you every opportunity to learn and develop within the HR generalist field. 

About you

As our People Officer, you will work across the UK People Team to provide excellent administrative support across the full spectrum of HR including, recruitment, policy, processes, systems, employee benefits and general UK People Team projects and initiatives. In this role, you will act as a central point of contact for all HR queries across the UK and the team, providing a proactive and customer centric response to internal and external stakeholders, and as well as ensuring our processes, systems and practices are accurate and efficient. 

To be successful, you'll need

* Experience of working as an HR Administrator / Officer in a busy (office / professional) environment whilst remaining calm under pressure. 

* A can-do proactive attitude, able to manage multiple workstreams whilst remaining calm under pressure and not compromising on quality. 

* Strong customer service skills, dealing with a wide variety of internal/external customers. 

* Excellent oral and written communication skills, fluent in the English language. 

* Excellent IT literacy using Office 365, in particular the MS office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and SharePoint. 

* Able to work collaboratively and build effective working relationships with colleagues, internal and external stakeholders.

Additional Information 

WaterAid is located at Canary Wharf, London and this will be your location and contract base. We are hybrid working, which means where you will be required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week. The remainder of the time will be working from home.
