Requirements
As a UK Legal Counsel at Multiverse you will:
- Report to the General Counsel
- Work closely with our Go To Market (Sales) team to draft and negotiate our B2B customer and partner contracts
- Set us up for success at scale by implementing self-serve processes and training the teams on how to work with legal
- Provide support on privacy and data protection matters, supported by our Data Privacy Lead, ensuring that our policies are up to date and our processes are both compliant and easy to follow
- Contribute towards de-risking our approach to entering into and negotiating contracts across the business
- Proactively identify risks to our business and solutions to eliminate or mitigate them
- Assist with supplier matters such as supplier audits, contract reviews and negotiations, and marketing reviews
- Draft and periodically review terms of use of our platform
- Provide legal support for ad-hoc projects across a range of business functions (e.g. Finance, HR, Operations, Product, Risk & Compliance)
- Help set up agile risk-based processes and procedures
- Contribute towards Multiverse’s legal resources and business and training programmes
- Manage external counsel support as necessary
We’re looking for a UK Legal Counsel who can display the below skills & experience
- 2 to 5 years’ experience in-house or at a top law firm (preferably with secondment experience) with a focus on commercial matters.
- Demonstrable experience of providing end-to-end B2B and commercial contractual support
- Strong commercial acumen; able to take a pragmatic approach to legal risk and advise the business accordingly
- Experience building risk management processes and procedures from the ground up
- Experience in employment/discirination matters
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong team player and can-do approach; no job is too big or too small
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic business
- Qualified to practise law in the UK
- Prior in-house experience within a high-growth technology company or a start-up (preferred)
- Experience working on multi-jurisdictional (US/UK) transactions and matters (preferred)
