Role Summary

The role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for maternity cover fixed term appointment in Wakehurst’s Conservation and Research Nursery. We are looking for a proactive, motivated individual to join our dynamic team working alongside skilled Horticulturalists, apprentices, and volunteers. The successful candidate will carry out a range of tasks within the nursery, propagating and cultivating woody, perennial and annual plant species for the gardens and landscape, research projects, and conservation programmes. Additionally, the candidate will work in the landscape collections auditing and labelling. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with a diverse range of temperate plants from around the world set in the beautiful landscape of Wakehurst, Sussex. During the contract, the nursery will be relocating to a new adjacent glasshouse facility onsite, so we are seeking someone adaptable, practical, and ready to take on a wide variety of tasks, both independently and as part of a team to support this work.

Job requirements: An Enhanced DBS Check is required for this role.
