Rugby School Online will provide world class online (and hybrid) education and training to pupils and teachers around the world who would otherwise have been unable to access our provision or would benefit from it as a supplement to existing resources.

In 2021/22 RSO launched a new platform which provides A-level revision tuition for selected subject areas (Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics) to Rugby students and those from state and other independent sector institutions. We anticipate that this could include other schools within the Rugby family (e.g. Rugby School Thailand).

The selected candidate will work closely with the Executive leadership team at Rugby School Group and provide regular updates to a Governor sub-committee. It is anticipated that this venture may eventually be spun off as a separate commercial entity within the Rugby School family. Therefore, an interest in the commercial, entrepreneurial and business aspects of this work will be important.

There will be a wide remit for the successful candidate in what is an exceptional opportunity to establish and develop a transformational addition to the provision of Rugby School all over the world. Whilst we would not expect individuals to already have experience in all areas of the job specification, they will need to have a sales-focussed approach, strong problem-solving capabilities, an entrepreneurial mindset, an excellent work ethic, and the ability to connect strands between diverse projects and stakeholders.

The successful candidate is expected to become part of the senior management team at Rugby. As a member of the school’s senior team, they will play a key role in the strategic leadership and development of the school. JOB PURPOSE

To establish and develop a transformational addition to the provision of Rugby School Online all over the

world.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Be responsible for the design and execution of a strategy to achieve a minimum of £500K sales between commencing the role and the end of the 2022/3 academic year
• Seek out domestic and international partners and clients, helping RSO to evolve into one of the best education platforms in the market
• Lead development of a long-term vision and organisational structure for RSO
• Have overall responsibility for budget management, sales forecasts and invoicing
• Assist in trademarking and other start up considerations; work with third party suppliers such as website providers and digital consultants to set briefs and performance targets
• Continually be aware of market trends, shaping our offer in accordance with external needs
• Lead on all aspects of product development, ensuring that this is a world-class proposition given the competition in the market
• All staff have a responsibility and duty of care to safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils. Staff must be aware of the systems within the School which support safeguarding and must act in accordance with the School’s Safeguarding & Child Protection policy and Code of Conduct. Staff will receive appropriate child protection training which is regularly updated.
• Assist with the admissions and marketing process. Note: This could include, and is not limited to: website design; social media output; attending and running external events; developing online admissions testing
• Appoint and lead a team of teachers (content) and other key roles who deliver lessons via Rugby Online
• Oversee the development and implementation of the pedagogical aspects that will make up Rugby Online
• Manage our production partner to develop further the online learning environment
