The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a Flight Dynamics Engineer to join the Earth Observation Mission Support Section of the Flight Dynamics Division, within the Ground Systems Engineering and Innovation Department, Directorate of Operations. This position is based at ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany.
The role: As a Flight Dynamics Engineer, you will be instrumental in providing flight dynamics solutions to various satellite projects. Your responsibilities will include the study, development, test, operations, evaluation, and maintenance of flight dynamics systems, addressing both infrastructure and project-specific issues. You will also be involved in gathering and managing requirements for flight dynamics support, developing and maintaining software, and coordinating support activities across the division.
Job requirements: The ideal candidate should have a strong background in mathematics and orbital mechanics, experience in flight dynamics systems engineering, and software systems development. A master's degree in mathematics, physics, or a relevant engineering field is required. Additionally, several years of active participation in flight dynamics support for space missions is essential. You must be able to establish working interfaces in a multi-disciplinary and multi-project operational environment.
