Role Summary

The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a Strategy Officer to join our Strategy Coordination Division within the Strategy Department. This role is crucial for developing and implementing the strategic initiatives of ESA in line with our Long-Term Plan (LTP). As a Strategy Officer, you will be stationed at ESA Headquarters in Paris, France, contributing to our mission of shaping the development of Europe's space capability.

The role: You will be tasked with developing methodologies and processes to effectively implement ESA's strategy, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and objectives. Your responsibilities will include supporting the coordination of strategy across various ESA directorates, assisting in strategic analysis, and contributing to the evolution of ESA's legal and administrative frameworks. Additionally, you will monitor the agency's performance and support the implementation of ESA Strategy 2040. You will also be involved in preparing strategic policy papers and reporting on internal and external achievements.

Job requirements: A master's degree in engineering or science is required. Applicants should have a strong background in engineering or science, with extensive knowledge of European space strategies and the broader space sector. This includes familiarity with space programs, policy development, and strategy implementation processes. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in project management, risk management, and the ability to foster cooperation across teams. Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills are essential.
