Role Summary

  • Provide central programme management support functions.
  • Maintain and control planning for all financial resources, procurement plans, workforce, and schedule.
  • Support various functions including project control, inventory, logistics, IT, documentation configuration management, financial accounting, and administration.
  • Act as Senior Financial Controller for the Directorate, establishing and maintaining the programme's financial Long-Term Plan.

Role Requirements

  • Must possess a master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Should have an extensive record of accomplishments in space-related business control, particularly in financial accounting.
  • Experience in the operational activity of a programme directorate or similar structure is required.
  • Effective leadership skills and resource management experience are a must.

The Directorate of Human and Robotic Exploration Programmes (D/HRE) at ESA is dedicated to exploring space destinations where humans are already living and working or will in the future for scientific research, economic development, international cooperation, and public inspiration. As the Business Control and Management Support Group Leader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective implementation of the Directorate's activities by providing management support and overseeing the Directorate's overall resource planning, controlling, and reporting.

The role: You will provide central programme management support functions, maintain and control planning for all activities related to financial resources, procurement plans, workforce, and schedule. Additionally, you will support project control, inventory, logistics, IT, documentation configuration management, financial accounting, and administration functions. You will also act as Senior Financial Controller for the Directorate, establishing and maintaining the programme's financial Long-Term Plan, monitoring project costs, and performing workforce planning and resource management.

Job requirements: A master's degree in a relevant domain is required. You should have an extensive record of accomplishments in space-related business control, particularly in financial accounting, and experience in the operational activity of a programme directorate or similar structure. Leadership skills, the ability to foster effective collaboration, and experience in managing resources are essential.
