Rivan Industries is a pioneering synthetic fuel company focused on decarbonizing heavy industry. Our mission is to make synthetic fuel more affordable than fossil fuels, supporting life on Earth by keeping CO2 locked underground. We design and manufacture modular synthetic fuel plants that include a DAC system, an Alkaline Electrolyser, and a Sabatier Reactor. These plants are integrated with off-grid DC solar and the European gas-grid. We have recently launched the UK's largest synthetic fuel plant and are planning to significantly scale our operations.
The role: As a Principal Electrical Design Engineer at Rivan Industries, you will take charge of our industrial AC power architecture. Your responsibilities will include optimizing power conversion, distribution, and balance of plant (BoP) for cost, manufacturability, and reliability. You will produce and maintain comprehensive power architecture schematics, develop protection strategies, and handle cable sizing calculations and panel design. Additionally, you will lead panel certification activities under the Machinery Directive and Low Voltage Directive (CE/UKCA) and contribute to the safety system architecture and design.
Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years of industrial electrical design experience, particularly in power systems, industrial machinery, or process environments. Proficiency in Electrical CAD tools such as Solidworks Electrical, EPLAN, or AutoCAD is essential. Experience with safety instrumented systems and functional safety standards is also required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in industrial power conversion, high-power DC systems, and ATEX or hazardous area classification.
Benefits: The position offers a competitive salary range of £120,000 to £140,000, significant share options, health insurance, and extensive relocation support including an additional £6000 per year to live close to our headquarters.
