Role Summary
- You will support the Trust-wide volunteering strategy and ensure compliance with policies.
- You will develop new volunteer opportunities and deliver various communication and face-to-face activities.
- You will act as a link between the National Volunteering Team and regional volunteer managers, oversee regional recruitment, and manage new volunteering opportunities.
- You will support effective communication and volunteer engagement and maintain accurate regional volunteer records.
Role Requirements
- Experience working with volunteers and volunteer managers, including recruitment, training, and management.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage volunteers through various methods.
- Experience in volunteering events and managing difficult situations.
- A diploma or higher in an environmental field or relevant volunteering training and a full valid driving license are required.

The Role: As a Volunteer Development Officer (VDO) for the South East region, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Trust-wide volunteering strategy. This position involves ensuring compliance with policies, including record keeping, induction, and training. You will also develop new volunteer opportunities based on regional priorities and deliver various communication and face-to-face activities to ensure a safe and positive volunteering experience. Your responsibilities will include acting as a liaison between the National Volunteering Team and regional volunteer managers, overseeing regional recruitment, and developing and managing new volunteering opportunities. Additionally, you will deliver activities to support effective communication and engagement, undertake an annual program of volunteer visits, and lead on maintaining accurate regional volunteer records.
