Skuna Boats launched in 2017, providing unique boating experiences with its Hot Tub & BBQ boats and currently operating in Canary Wharf and Lakeside Essex.
Barge East is a bar & casual fine dining restaurant based on a converted 120-year-old Dutch Barge. Since its inception in 2018 it has won the 2021 Catey Best Newcomer award, 2019 Number 1 Restaurant in London on TripAdvisor & Silver Award at the London Venue & Catering Awards. Since 2020 the area has expanded to Barge East Gardens & Terrace which includes an edible garden and multi-sensory experience for guests dining in the gardens.
With sustainability at its core, the gardens provide fresh and organic produce for the menu on board the barge with other sustainable initiatives to reduce impact throughout the venues, this role is excellent for someone with a passion, experience or interest in sustainable businesses.
With huge potential for growth this role will have responsibility for creating a robust customer experience for all venues.

We are looking to expand both brands as we enter 2022 and create internal processes to streamline the daily running of the businesses from a marketing point of view.
Your role
The role will be responsible for the planning, execution, development and effective delivery of both companies’ marketing strategies and plans. You will be working closely with the owners to ensure that the marketing activity is aligned to the vision and overall business plan, achieving agreed objectives and KPIs.
Your duties include guiding and managing the marketing and customer service team, developing and managing marketing budgets and overseeing various marketing projects.
You and the team will be responsible for delivering a marketing plan which incorporates PR and traditional and digital marketing to maximise our growth and awareness in the market.
Activities will include:
- Maintaining up to date presence across all online and social channels
- Deep understanding and optimisation of third party websites
- Provide thorough analytical insights that drive significant impact, efficiencies and ROI
- Expand our social media presence while also creating systems to capture and funnel leads.
- Review our brand and on-site customer experience, ensure we attract new customers who become long term fans
- Significantly increase the social media engagement across all our social media platforms as well as growing our following
- Proactively exploring and developing creative ways to increase our sales and presence
- Identifying key PR contacts in the media, producing content and proactively driving our media presence
- Email Marketing, Social media management, Web design
- Sales funnel, Landing pages, Content creation
- Utilising Google, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Analytics and other insights
- YouTube & TikTok - create on-trend video marketing content to ensure our brand is kept relevant and up to date.
Key Experience and Skills:
- Experience in producing and effectively delivering a marketing strategy and plan.
- People management
- Video marketing and a good understanding of YouTube ads and a good understanding of social media advertising.
- Knowledge of business financials and how marketing drives them
- Experience in traditional and digital marketing, with drive and ambition to succeed. This will include knowledge of PR.
- Good business acumen and team player are a must.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work on your own and use initiative.
- Excellent time management.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise workloads.
- Excellent organisation and capability to work at pace.
