The role: Partnerships Lead

We are looking for a strategic thinker and an excellent relationship-builder to join our team. This role will involve designing and executing our ambitious employer partnership strategy. The employers we work with and who hire our Associates are a critical part of Breakthrough’s impact. This role will be working closely with large and small employers to design ways to collaborate with Breakthrough. This ultimately should lead to job creation for our Associates and will include designing events, creating joint marketing and designing volunteering opportunities too - whatever can bring the employers in!

Breakthrough is a dynamic organisation where we support everyone to build their areas of expertise and interest. Therefore, we keep the hierarchy as flat as possible. This role reports into the CEO, but the individual will have autonomy over the partnerships.

Key Programme Lead responsibilities include:

  • Managing the wide range of employers currently involved with Breakthrough
  • Reaching new employers through networks and marketing campaigns
  • Co-designing partnerships with employers to add value to Breakthrough’s mission
  • Creating job opportunities for our Associates with employers
  • Managing the ongoing employer relationships and problem solving any issues that may arise 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a self-starter and enjoy working flexibly, autonomously, surrounded by a supportive team
  • Have experience of building partnerships with businesses and/or selling high value products or services to businesses
  • Be an excellent communicator with people from all backgrounds and at all levels
  • Have experience working in a sales and/or marketing role. [This role will be very different to others due to the nature of our organisation, however understanding the fundamentals here will help us to grow quickly.]
  • Be confident with office technology and leverage it to enhance the business
  • Be ambitious and bring energy and innovation to each element of the role
  • Be passionate about driving equality in business and strongly believe in the vision of Breakthrough
