Role Summary

Our mission is to create economies that meet the needs of all people within the means of the living planet, fostering a regenerative and distributive future. We work with innovative cities, businesses, educators, community groups, and other stakeholders to turn these ideas into practical, actionable strategies. The role we are offering is the Business & Enterprise Lead, a key position responsible for leading DEAL’s engagement with the business sector. This role involves promoting the deep design of businesses that align with Doughnut Economics principles, moving beyond traditional models dominated by financial capital interests. You will generate support and enthusiasm for alternative business models such as steward ownership, nature-based governance, employee or community ownership, social enterprises, and cooperatives. As the leader in this area, you will advocate for transformative business practices, highlighting emergent alternatives and encouraging a shift towards more sustainable and equitable economic models. Your experience and enthusiasm for transforming business design are essential to succeed in this role. This is a remote position, with the requirement to work within ±3 hours of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Occasional travel will be necessary for in-person team gatherings twice a year, as well as other relevant events and meetings. The annual salary for this role is £59,317.34 (pro rata).
