The Directorate of Human and Robotic Exploration Programmes (D/HRE) at ESA is dedicated to exploring space destinations where humans are already living and working or will in the future, for scientific research, economic development, international cooperation, and public inspiration.

The Role: As the Team Lead of the Human Exploration Science Team, you will work closely with the Office of the Chief Exploration Scientist and the Human Exploration Group. Your primary role will be to act as the scientific advisor on human exploration science, coordinating scientific activities that address operational priorities, and defining strategic priorities for human exploration science and life sciences. You will also be responsible for the delivery of these activities across all HRE destinations and managing the science teams needed for these tasks.

Job Requirements: Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant domain or a medical degree. Extensive experience in space-related scientific research, including leadership on major projects or missions, is essential. You should also have experience in managing scientific budgets and resources, and be familiar with international scientific collaborations and partnerships.
