The European Space Agency (ESA) is an international organization renowned for its dedicated contributions to space exploration and technology. We are currently seeking a diligent and skilled Ariane 6 Launch System Product Assurance and Safety Manager.

Role Summary:

  • You will oversee the implementation of Product Assurance and Safety (PA&S) requirements and activities for the Ariane 6 launch system, coordinating the PA&S team and interacting with project managers.
  • You will also establish and manage PA&S requirements, review contractors' plans, and verify compliance during reviews.


Role Requirements:

  • A master's degree in engineering and significant experience in managing product assurance and safety is required.
  • Experience in partnering in an international environment and familiarity with lean product development methodologies is essential. Knowledge of FSOA and related regulations is beneficial.

The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a dedicated Ariane 6 Launch System Product Assurance and Safety Manager to join our Space Transportation Systems Product Assurance and Safety Office within the Quality Department, Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality. This position is based at ESA Headquarters in Paris, France.

The role: As the Ariane 6 Launch System Product Assurance and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for the overall implementation of the Product Assurance and Safety (PA&S) requirements and activities for the Ariane 6 launch system. This includes development, exploitation, and evolutions of the launch system. Your duties will involve coordinating the Ariane 6 and Astris PA&S team, interfacing with program and project managers, and establishing and maintaining the PA&S requirements baseline. You will also review contractors' plans and specifications, verify PA&S requirements during program reviews, and manage PA&S actions and recommendations.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in engineering and several years of experience in managing product assurance and safety activities. Experience in interfacing with partners in an international environment and familiarity with lean product development methodologies are essential. Knowledge of the French Space Operation Act (FSOA) and related regulations would be an asset.
