The Programme Partnership Manager is a highly strategic and creative role – working across the core functions of the BBC Programme Partnerships team to realise best in class content campaigns that educate, inform and entertain audiences.

Working with the Global Head of Programme Partnerships and the Series Development team, the Programme Partnership Manager will build a structure for our bbc.com hosted branded content series, researching and establishing themes and storylines that offer commercial and creative promise. A highly adept project manager, they will be responsible for owning and building out a pipeline of content partners, engaging with C-Suite decision-makers, as well as key opinion leaders across an exciting range of disciplines to bring stories to the attention of the BBC StoryWorks team. Liaising closely with our award-winning team of producers and creatives, the Programme Partnership Manager will help shape compelling narratives across written, video and audio formats that deliver against ambitious KPIs, from concept-stage through to campaign delivery.

Impeccable communication, influencing and negotiating skills are a must, and experience in business development role is preferred. Successful candidates will have a proven track record of building and managing external relationships as well as working in a high level in a representative capacity, and will demonstrate a keen interest in current affairs that translates to an ability to quickly grasp and elucidate complex themes. A strong understanding of media strategies and ability to input in a meaningful way into campaign development across multiple platforms to engage relevant global audiences is also desired.

Role Responsibility

  • Collaboration across team functions of series development and research, commercial partnerships, production, editorial and marketing
  • Project set up and implementation of a range of branded digital content campaigns
  • Responsibility for the entire partnerships process from research, initial engagement, negotiation, close, product and campaign development and delivery and account growth
  • Ongoing communication with senior decision-makers to negotiate collaborating and investing in content production across a range of innovative formats
  • Effective communication to instil confidence in editorial and production colleagues, working collaboratively with teams and being involved in the preparation and planning of content and bringing programme ideas to the table
  • Oversee redlines and contract negotiation, liaising with legal, finance, compliance and other business functions
  • Achieve quarterly and annual activity KPIs and targets to support a fast-growing business
  • Stakeholder management at all levels to build successful relationships and achieve common goals, both internally and externally
  • Development and delivery of presentation and campaign materials, shared across a range of different media platforms, both online and in-person

Are you the right candidate?

  • The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with a broad number of stakeholders and partners, as well as demonstrate an ability to deal at senior levels
  • Excellent relationship builder and collaborator, with a proven ability to develop productive working relationships
  • Skilled at presenting across different media platforms, both online and in person
  • You will be highly organised and possess strong project management skills to ensure the successful delivery of projects, on time 
  • Clear, eloquent, and personable manner, alongside ability to think on your feet
  • Confidence and experience of online and face to face meetings with senior executives
  • The ability to research, understand, and relay new, complex concepts effectively
  • Able to clearly articulate the craft of writers, filmmakers and designers to both clients and colleagues
  • Contributing in brainstorming sessions to propose creative ideas and solutions that meet client’s KPI / deliver commercial and creative value for PP
  • Polished written, telephone, and face-to-face communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to interpret data and enact change
  • Great time management and use of initiative, ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and work in a fast-paced environment
