The Role

We’re looking for a Head of Data to join the WeGift team and set the strategy for our data function as we look to scale the team throughout 2022, and beyond!

You’ll work closely with our CTO on setting the vision, processes and be solely responsible for building and running the team.

We’re looking for someone who has a strong technical data engineering background and is still hands on and able to use your data expertise to dive deep into technical challenges, whilst driving strategic initiatives to build our data capabilities in line with the company roadmap. 

What Excites You:

  • Building a Data team consisting of Data Engineers, Data Analysts and Data Scientists team to deliver against your strategic vision whilst utilising your data expertise to remain technically hands on.
  • Translating your vision into data strategy and leading the end to end data architecture, building scalable processes and setting the foundations of data engineering best practice.
  • Working with modern technology, like serverless data services (AWS Lambda) and cloud based data warehousing (Snowflake). 

What Excites Us:

  • Prior experience building and nurturing a world class data team that can transform how we access, transfer, measure and view our data using modern technology, which will have a positive impact on our teams and customers.
  • Previous experience setting data strategy and processes for a high growth, technology led scale up business and embracing the challenges in doing so.
  • Data Engineering expertise and experience working with modern data architectures, cloud technologies and tooling. You’re not afraid to be hands on and lead by example as you grow the team from the ground up. 
  • A passion for promoting best practice within the team
