Marketing Lead

Nature tech company seeks marketing rock start to build our marketing and branding efforts

The world is facing a nature crisis. We have lost 85% of the world’s wetlands, 35% of its forests and 65% of its living creatures. Action on nature is the next frontier for sustainability, as the world has to move beyond net zero to a nature positive future. 

Natcap research is at the forefront of this movement. We are a science and geospatial intelligence company focused on developing new technology to enable nature conservation and restoration. The company was founded by two of the world’s leading experts on Natural Capital – Professor Baroness Kathy Willis and Professor Dieter Helm of Oxford University. In just a few months, we have grown to serve 30 major organisations in the UK. We are now scaling up to bring our solution to the world.

As the Marketing Lead and first marketing team member, your mission is to launch the company's marketing and branding strategy.

Your challenges include:

  • Maintaining an up-to-date perspective on customer/market research & competitor intelligence
  • Building marketing plans to allow natcap research reach its strategic objectives
  • Managing the execution of multi-channel marketing strategy (e.g., search engine, traditional media, social media, email, conferences, podcasts)
  • Enhancing and maintaining the company website 
  • Supporting sales with identification of high potential leads
  • Developing and maintaining external partnerships  
  • Diagnosing and optimizing customer acquisition user journey 
  • Leading on brand development and positioning
  • Working with the product development team to ensure a consistent look and feel in product development

Must haves:

  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, ideally in a startup environment
  • Excited to work in person in London 3 days a week
  • Passion for sustainability and conservation
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Experience with digital and print marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing

Big Plus:

  • Web design experience
  • Proficiency with HTML, content management systems, and design software
  • Established portfolio of media and PR contacts
