RBG Kew is a leading plant science institute, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and renowned visitor attraction. We aim to understand and preserve plant and fungal diversity for the future of all life on Earth, and we're looking for a Botanical Horticulturist to join our team. You'll work within the Gardens Temperate Collections Section and play a pivotal part in maintaining our world-class collections.
Role Summary:
- Work in the Grass Garden, Duke’s Garden, Evolution Garden, Carbon Garden Team
- Maintain our world-class collections, and uphold our high standards
Role Requirements:
- You must hold a horticultural qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 2 or above
- Experience in ornamental horticulture and caring for a range of woody and herbaceous plants is required
- Demonstrable interest in grasses and their cultivation
- Experience in turf maintenance, use of horticultural machinery
- Understanding of carrying out horticultural techniques in a team environment

The role: As a Botanical Horticulturist, you will be part of the Gardens Temperate Collections Section, specifically working within the Grass Garden, Duke’s Garden, Evolution Garden, and Carbon Garden Team. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining our world-class collections, ensuring they are kept to a high standard as they are critical components of Kew’s living heritage landscape and visitor offer.
Job requirements: The successful candidate must hold a horticultural qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 2 or above, with experience in ornamental horticulture caring for a range of woody and herbaceous plants. A demonstrable interest in grasses and their cultivation is essential, along with experience in turf maintenance, use of horticultural machinery, and understanding of carrying out horticultural techniques in a team environment.
