Role Summary:

  • Managing the technology harmonisation process at a European level

Role Requirements:

  • Technical/functional domain knowledge
  • Experience gained via internships, projects and other activities
  • Excellent understanding of the space sector, with knowledge of ESA's programs and projects
  • Master's degree in systems engineering, business engineering/management, or industrial engineering
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in international teams is beneficial

Our team and mission at the Technology Coordination and Planning Office (TEC-RH) within the ESA Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality (TEC) is pivotal. We lead the implementation and evolution of processes relating to technology planning and coordination across the Agency and with external stakeholders, including ESA Member States, the EU, and industry. Our office also supports the Director on EU matters related to technology and general interaction with ESA Member States and industry.

The role involves managing the technology harmonisation process at the European level, including mapping needs and capabilities leading to roadmaps agreed by national and European institutions and industry, and monitoring their implementation. You will act as Chair of the Technology Harmonisation Advisory Group (IPC THAG) that advises the ESA Industrial Policy Committee (IPC), an ESA delegate body. Additionally, you will provide a secretariat function to the IPC THAG and the Technology Advisory Working Group (TA-WG) of the IPC.

Job requirements include knowledge of relevant technical/functional domains, experience gained during internships, project work, and/or extracurricular or other activities. A general knowledge of the space sector and relevant activities, as well as knowledge of ESA and its programs/projects, is essential.

For applications, you should have just completed, or be in the final year of your master's degree in a technical or scientific discipline, particularly systems engineering, business engineering/management, or industrial engineering.
