Paniolo Adventures is the Big Island’s premier trail ride outfitter. We are always seeking professional, enthusiastic, and dedicated individuals to join our team. Our Wranglers are responsible for the care and wellness of Paniolo Adventures’ trail riding horses as well as conducting trail rides for guests from all over the world. Our trails wind through an 11,000-acre working cattle ranch. Wages are commensurate with experience.

Job Description

This is a general outline of the essential duties and responsibilities of the Wrangler position, including include the following:

• Horse handling, round up, grooming, saddling, feeding and watering, minor medical procedures.

• Provide preride instruction to guests regarding how to ride safely and general horsemanship.

• Assist guests to mount and dismount, adjust tack properly and fit helmets.

• Conduct trail rides at various times of the day in a positive, entertaining and safe manner.

• All barn chores including manure removal and stall cleaning.

• Maintenance of tack and other horse equipment.

• Trail, fence, and corral maintenance.

• Understand and follow safety and risk management procedures to ensure safety of guests, employees, and horses.

• Greet guests, check them in and ensure accurate completion of applicable forms, including waivers of liability and ride log; take and document payment.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum age is 18

• Paid working experience with horses required.

• Ability to ride a horse for 6-8 hours per day.

• Knowledge of and ability to manage horses and guests of a variety of temperaments 

• Ability to consistently lift and carry weight from 10#-70# without issue.

• Willing to work in all weather conditions, including wind and rain

• Willing to work holidays and weekends
