Kitt

Platform Engineer

Join Kitt as they are looking for a Platform Engineer

Hi, we’re Kitt - a managed office operator that partners with landlords to deliver an all-inclusive experience for tenants to find, design, move-in and thrive in their perfect space. A Kitt office is one that brings people together, elevates your culture and ultimately delivers space for you to do your best work - we think that’s pretty cool.

The Role

Reporting directly into our Head of Engineering, you’ll have a focus on the platform infrastructure and back end, but we’ll also give you exposure to our full stack, meaning there’s plenty of opportunity to keep your front end skills fresh, if that’s what you’d like to do. We’re a lean team with two squads covering an entirely tech enabled customer journey so there’s real opportunity to come in and make a huge impact.

You will be

  • Managing the complexity of a cloud based resilient distributed system.
  • Implementing systems to ensure site reliability, such as unified tracing and monitoring.
  • Building systems to identify bugs before they hit production
  • Building dev tools to allow quick development and testing in a distributed architecture that mirrors production
  • Designing and implementing CI/CD to have repeatable atomic releases of tested code
  • Contributing to Kitt’s core libraries that will be used by the rest of the development team to build features including code generation libraries.

About you

  • A Platform or DevOps Engineer with 2+ years experience working with Kubernetes.
  • Experience in ‘Infrastructure as Code’ patterns and practices (Terraform).
  • A passion for architecting and building cloud native systems.
  • A background in Software Engineering and solid programming experience.
  • We’re language agnostic so what you’ve coded in before is less important than your ability to learn quickly and get stuck in.
  • Designed and implemented micro services and distributed architecture.
  • Knowledge of networking and DNS.
  • Ambitious and eager to work in a friendly startup with a wide-reaching ambition: to transform every space so that it best serves people and their purposes.
  • You want to be a part of a high-performing engineering team that is effective, enables engineers to focus on their strengths and supports them in their weaknesses.
  • You make a positive impact on your team's code quality and architecture.

Experience in:

  • Queues and event dispatching
  • Protobufs
  • GRPC
  • AWS (or any major cloud provider)
  • Docker
  • Linux fundamentals

Our Stack:

This is the technology that we use, you should be familiar and have experience in the majority of it.

  • Golang
  • Protobuf & PubSub
  • Terraform
  • Mysql, prostrgres, redshift
  • Git
  • Elastic search
  • Kubernetes
  • AWS

Why Kitt?

Whether it be our Leasing Managers helping tenants to find the perfect location, our Interior Designers bringing the space to life, or our Space Partners arranging the coffee and cleaning once moved in - our team do it all, so that our tenants can focus on their business.

We are on a mission to empower companies to thrive in their own tailored, hassle-free space. In less than 2 years we have grown to become London’s second biggest Managed operator (by number of buildings) and we’re just getting started.

We’re a well funded scale-up backed by one of London’s major prop-tech investors. We partner with landlords to provide our tenants with tailored managed offices that they can call their own; using the latest technology to help digitise the space (Using 3D property scans, VR designs, virtual receptionists and a Tenant App to name a few). We’re leading the charge in an unexplored segment of the market.
