The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a Lead Space Segment Engineer to join our Earth Observation Projects Department within the Directorate of Earth Observation Programmes. This position is based at ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands.
The role: As a Lead Space Segment Engineer, you will be responsible for the comprehensive management of space segment engineering and industrial oversight. This includes ensuring coherent specification, design, development, verification, launch preparation, and in-orbit validation of spacecraft and associated equipment. Your role will ensure compliance with technical, programmatic, cost, and schedule requirements.
Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline and proven experience in multidisciplinary technical knowledge and experience in space segment engineering. You should have experience in spacecraft design, development, integration, and verification, as well as managing and monitoring industrial activities in ESA project environments. Knowledge of ESA development, verification, and procurement processes is essential.
