The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as the Head of the In-Orbit Technology Demonstration Division within the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality, located at ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands. This role is pivotal as Europe enters a decisive decade for space system innovation, with small satellites, CubeSats, and microsatellites becoming strategic enablers for large constellations and deep space exploration.

The role: As the Head of the In-Orbit Technology Demonstration Division, you will lead ESA's flagship capability for In-Orbit Demonstration and Validation (IOD/IOV). You will define and implement ESA's IOD/IOV vision and strategy, drive innovation across various satellite forms, and enable European industry to transition from laboratory to orbit. Your leadership will empower a highly motivated, multidisciplinary team to de-risk technologies that will define Europe's future space capabilities.

Job requirements: The position requires a master's degree in aerospace engineering or an equivalent discipline. Proven experience in managing space projects in Phases C and D, including flight, is essential. Leadership skills, the ability to motivate and develop teams in an international setting, and excellent relationship management and communication skills are crucial.
