We’re looking for inspirational science teachers who are available for up to 20 days between 7th November and 2nd December 2022, to help us trial our new production processes. This will involve creating high-quality science lesson resources, and accompanying videos, for common Key Stage 3 and 4 topics.
Responsibilities:
Design and creation of lesson resources, comprising slide decks, worksheets, quizzes and associated lesson information, which meet Oak’s quality guidance requirements and showcase best practice in subject and pedagogical expertise across secondary science lessons as allocated by Oak;
Produce video recordings delivering the lesson to provide a model for teachers and to support remote learning as part of an asynchronous lesson, which meet Oak’s quality guidance requirements and showcase best practice in subject and pedagogical expertise;
Peer review lessons created by fellow teachers;
Provide feedback on production processes, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
4+ years direct experience of teaching in a school/schools following the English National Curriculum for science in Key Stages 3 or 4;
An excellent practitioner with experience of creating and delivering lesson content that demonstrates pedagogical best practice and excellent subject knowledge;
Have a high standard of maths and English, including punctuation and grammar, in written and verbal communication;
Competent working with and adapting to a variety of technologies.
Successful candidates will have a desire to contribute in all areas to ensure Oak is successful. You will be comfortable working at pace and you will continuously look at ways that the team can work more smartly. You will be excellent at working as part of a remote team, building relationships and managing your time effectively.
Successful candidates will be required to provide their own equipment, including:
Laptop with at least 8GB RAM processing speed;
Reliable internet speed and connection with minimum download rate of 20 Mbps and minimum upload rate of 5 Mbps;
Webcam: In-built or standalone camera, capable of recording videos of at least 1080p HD quality and with minimum frame rate of 60fps. The camera consistently records clear, synchronised, unpixelated visuals;
Microphone: Standalone or clip-on microphone. The microphone has a minimum bit depth of 16-bit, is able to support a sample rate of at least 44kHz and consistently records clear and synchronised audio;
A suitable space to film lesson videos (a quiet, well lit room with a plain, light, background).
