Role Summary

Role Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in payload engineering.
  • Extensive knowledge in satellite operations, team management, and procurement processes with exemplary leadership, problem-solving skills and an ability to effectively manage and report on satellite development.

The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a qualified individual to join our team as the Galileo G2B Satellite Payload Manager. This position is based at ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands, within the Directorate of Navigation. As an integral part of the Space Segment Management Office, you will play a crucial role in the Galileo and EGNOS Programme Department.

The role: As the Galileo G2B Satellite Payload Manager, you will oversee the payload design, development, implementation, and validation of one of the two sets of Galileo transition satellites. This includes managing the ground test campaign, in-orbit commissioning, and in-orbit follow-up phases. Your responsibilities will involve monitoring industrial engineering activities related to navigation, payload security, and SAR payload systems. You will ensure these activities meet ESA's space segment requirements and support the G2B Satellite System Manager in various capacities.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in electrical engineering and at least 10 years of experience in payload engineering. Extensive knowledge in satellite operations, team management, and procurement processes is essential. You should also possess strong leadership capabilities, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage and report on satellite development effectively.
