Role Summary

The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a skilled Electromechanical Engineer to join our Engineering Services Section within the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality at ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands.

The role: As an Electromechanical Engineer, you will be involved in various tasks including the design, manufacturing, and assembly of electromechanical hardware related to test facilities, test equipment, and test instrumentation. You will perform mechanical simulations to support the Test Facilities and Laboratories Section and build mathematical models for virtual testing. Additionally, you will assist in the analysis of complex data from tests or simulations, support investment and maintenance activities, and participate in feasibility studies and project reviews.

Job requirements: Candidates must hold a master's degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering. You should have hands-on hardware experience, expertise in the design, development, and application of relevant tools and methods, and experience with laboratory or field testing of technical equipment. Experience in environmental testing for space hardware and preparation of procurement activities for technology development is also required. Proficiency in computer-aided design tools, preferably 3DExperience, and simulation tools such as Nastran and MATLAB/Simulink is essential.
