Role Summary:

  • Manage and implement ERS-EO programme clusters and National Projects involving Spain, Poland, and Greece.
  • Lead multifunctional teams and dedicated Project Managers to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to specifications.
  • Act as the ESCA+ Project Manager, managing the main ERS-EO cluster.

Role Requirements:

  • Master's degree in engineering or a scientific discipline.
  • Multidisciplinary knowledge and experience in satellite design, development, verification/testing, launch, and in-orbit validation.
  • Experience managing space project developments, including knowledge of industrial costs, schedules, project risk management, and procurement.
  • Experience in EO space mission operations and planning.

The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a National Projects and European Resilience from Space – Earth Observation (ERS-EO) Manager to join our Earth Observation Programmes Directorate at ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical space projects that enhance Europe's resilience through advanced Earth observation capabilities.

The role: As the National Projects and ERS-EO Clusters Manager, you will report to the ERS-EO Programme Manager and be responsible for the implementation of clusters (ALPSTAR and ESCA+) in the ERS-EO programme and National Projects with third-party programmes involving Spain, Poland, and Greece. You will manage multifunctional teams and dedicated Project Managers, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to specifications. Additionally, you will hold the role of ESCA+ Project Manager, directly managing the main ERS-EO cluster.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in engineering or a scientific discipline, with multidisciplinary knowledge and experience in satellite design, development, verification/testing, launch, and in-orbit validation. Proven experience managing space project developments, knowledge of industrial costs, schedules, complex project risk management, and familiarity with procurement are essential. You should also have experience in EO space mission operations and planning.
