ESA is excited to announce the availability of two positions within our Earth Observation Programmes Directorate, specifically in the Copernicus Ground Segment Systems Section and the Ecosystem Development Section. These roles are crucial as ESA continues to manage the operational missions and data management of the Copernicus Sentinels missions, ensuring the availability of high-quality data to a broad user community.
The role: As an EO Data Architect and AI Expert, you will drive and manage the definition and evolution of the Copernicus Sentinels and DestinE data architecture. This includes designing EO data pipelines for AI and ML workflows, contributing to future mission data architecture, and supporting the operational management of data. Your expertise will also support the development of an ecosystem of data management and modeling services to enhance user exploitation activities.
Job requirements: Candidates should have a master's degree in a relevant engineering field, familiarity with satellite missions and sensors, and experience in scalable data architectures, AI/ML models, and EO data analytics. Competence in distributed computing frameworks and geospatial data standards is also required.
