Role Summary

The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a qualified EO Frequency Management and Technology Engineer to join our Earth Observation Programmes Directorate at ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands. This role is crucial for supporting the development and management of Earth observation missions, ensuring compliance with frequency allocation and minimizing radio frequency interference.

The role: As an EO Frequency Management and Technology Engineer, you will be involved in analyzing the requirements and constraints of Earth observation missions, assisting in the evaluation of candidate missions, and providing support to various mission phases from preparation to operation. You will work closely with other divisions within the Directorate and liaise with external bodies such as the ITU and CEPT. Your tasks will include conducting technical studies, developing software tools for compatibility analysis, and participating in international forums and technical committees.

Job requirements: Applicants must hold a master's degree in engineering or physics and have at least three years of experience in frequency management. Experience with ITU Radio Regulations, microwave remote sensing techniques, and communication systems for EO missions is essential. The role requires frequent international travel and participation in meetings that may last several weeks.
