The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of ERS-EO Architecture and Upstream Manager, based at ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands. This role is crucial for the implementation of the system and space segment activities of Element 1 of the ERS-EO Programme, focusing on the preparation of the European Geostationary Orbit System (EOGS).
The role: As the ERS-EO Architecture and Upstream Manager, you will report to the ERS-EO Programme Manager within the Earth Observation Projects Department. Your responsibilities will include liaising with key external stakeholders such as DEFIS, SatCen, EUSPA, and Member States, and internal counterparts to ensure the convergence of the EOGS system architecture. You will manage the procurement and technical management of the system and space segment activities, ensuring they align with technical specifications, budget, and schedule. Additionally, you will manage industrial contracts and represent the projects towards ESA technical authorities and delegate bodies.
Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in engineering or a scientific discipline. You should possess multidisciplinary knowledge and experience in satellite design, development, and operations. Proven experience in managing space projects and familiarity with procurement processes are essential. Knowledge of military and dual-use space systems would be beneficial.
