Role Summary

Role Requirements

The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a dedicated HR Legal Officer to join our Resources and Services Directorate at the ESA Headquarters in Paris, France. This role is crucial for supporting the HR Legal Unit by providing expert advice and drafting important legal documents.

The role: As an HR Legal Officer, you will report to the Head of the HR Legal Unit. Your responsibilities will include drafting, updating, and revising legal texts such as Staff Regulations, Pension Rules, and related instructions. You will also support the development of the Agency's employment conditions by drafting legal opinions and internal memorandums. Additionally, you will assist in managing individual cases to ensure the consistent application of the Agency's policies and rules. Your role will also involve supporting the Legal Services Department in preparing case files for internal legal proceedings and participating in various meetings to take minutes and contribute to discussions.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in law and two to five years of professional experience, preferably within the legal practices of international organizations. Fluency in English and/or French is required, along with a strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, and best practices. Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop innovative legal and HR solutions are essential.
