The European Space Agency (ESA) is excited to announce an opening for a NAVISP Technology Innovation Engineer at our ESTEC location in Noordwijk, Netherlands. This role is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a program that has been a key enabler for innovation and competitiveness in the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) domain since its initiation in 2017.
The role: As a NAVISP Technology Innovation Engineer, you will be a core member of the NAVISP programme team, reporting to the NAVISP Element 1 Manager. Your responsibilities will include defining, implementing, and monitoring innovative activities in the field of navigation systems, technologies, algorithms, and techniques. This will be done in cooperation with European industry, universities, and research centers, as well as institutional stakeholders. You will scout for and explore innovative PNT technologies, support the identification and evaluation of disruptive technologies, and define feasibility studies and trade-off assessments for future PNT applications. Additionally, you will prepare and organize invitations to tender and oversee the execution of awarded contracts, ensuring performance within the allocated time and budget.
Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in aerospace engineering or another relevant domain. Experience working with satellite navigation and PNT systems is essential. You should possess strong technical, analytical, organizational, and reporting skills, with a proactive attitude to solving problems. Good interpersonal and communication skills are crucial, as is the ability to work in a multicultural environment. Knowledge of the ESA procurement process and Microsoft 365 tools is also required.
