The Validation Team

The Validation team is one of the three fraud prevention teams we have at Marshmallow and is responsible for ensuring those we have on cover are within our risk tolerance and are paying the right amount of premium to cover their true risk. The team does this at the point of purchase, during the policy term and deals with indemnity referrals at the point of claim as well. This helps to protect Marshmallow and keep our product affordable and accessible for all!

We’re looking for a Senior Lead based in London to manage our UK-based team and to be a part of building out and supporting the new Validation team we’re in the process of setting up in Budapest. As well as operational leadership, you’ll be a crucial part of driving our validation strategy, working with the wider Fraud leadership team and Marshmallow’s Underwriting team to decide what we review and how.

What you’ll be doing

  • You’ll be leading on our validation strategy at the point of sale by working closely with our Underwriting function and data scientists/ analysts to decide what we review
  • You’ll be responsible for the overall delivery of a team of Validation agents
  • You’ll be playing a key role in supporting our brand new and growing Budapest team to reach the technical and operational standards we expect

What we're looking for from you

  • You have 5+ years experience working in an underwriting fraud role (or similar)
  • You have an excellent knowledge of underwriting fraud and have used this to help define strategies
  • You have a proven track record of driving process change, working with a wide range of stakeholders and measuring the success of changes
  • You have managed teams of people. You were responsible for their performance and supporting them in their development
  • You have experience working with complex team structures or supporting across multi-site teams
  • You are ready for a new challenge in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment

Our process

We break it up into 3 stages:

  • Initial call with someone in the Talent team (30 mins)
  • A skill-based interview where you will discuss your previous experience etc. with someone from the Operations Leadership Team (1 hour)
  • A culture interview with to check that your work style fits our processes and values (1 hour)

We’ll let you know if you’re invited to an interview or not. But, as a small team with a lot of applications to consider, we can’t give individual feedback on each application.
