The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join the System Security Section (TEC-SES) within the End-to-End Systems Division of the Systems Department, under the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality. This position is based at ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands.

The role: As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be integral to ensuring the security of the Agency's missions, projects, and activities across space, ground, user segments, and communication links. This includes involvement from the study phase through to the development, integration, verification, and preparation of security services. You will participate in program reviews, assess security designs and implementations, and conduct hands-on penetration tests. Additionally, you will lead pen testing teams, identify security flaws, and recommend actions to strengthen defenses.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in computer science and/or cyber security. Familiarity with security tools like Metasploit, Nmap, Nessus, Burp Suite, and Wireshark is essential. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and a deep understanding of various operating systems and IT enterprise software are also required. Experience in security frameworks like OWASP and knowledge of the latest security threats and trends are crucial.
