Role Summary

Role Requirements

  • Desirable: Experience with AI and machine learning techniques in AOCS applications.

The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking three AOCS and Pointing Systems Engineers to join our team at the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality, located at ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands. This role is crucial for providing expert technical support and consultancy across various ESA projects and programs, particularly in the field of AOCS and pointing systems.

The role: As an AOCS and Pointing Systems Engineer, you will be involved in all project phases, offering technical support in AOCS architecture, design, verification, and equipment procurement. Your responsibilities will include participating in feasibility studies, project reviews, and the evaluation of procurement proposals. You will also identify critical development problems and assist in their resolution, contribute to technology development requirements, and manage R&D activities aimed at enhancing AOCS subsystem competitiveness and innovation.

Job requirements: Candidates must hold a master's degree in control engineering or aerospace engineering and have at least five years of experience in the development of satellite AOCS subsystems and procurement engineering. Strong expertise in AOCS subsystem architecture, design, testing, verification, and related areas is essential. Experience with AI and machine learning techniques in AOCS applications is also desirable.
