The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a Mission Analysis Architect to join the Mission Analysis Section of the Flight Dynamics Division within the Ground Systems Engineering and Innovation Department, Directorate of Operations. Located at ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany, this role is crucial for the development of future terrestrial, lunar, minor-body, and interplanetary missions, as well as scientific missions to other planets or missions to the libration points. The focus is on trajectory optimization, attitude-related aspects, and providing solutions for the spacecraft itself, the ground segment design, and operations preparations.

The Role: As a Mission Analysis Architect, you will participate in and organize mission analysis activities. You will develop complex software tools to enable the required analysis activities, including transfer and operational orbit analysis, optimizing propulsion trajectories, computing atmospheric entry trajectories, and more. A significant part of your role will involve focusing on the Agency’s future lunar lander missions and the required lunar surface mission analysis.

Job Requirements: Candidates should have a master's degree in a relevant domain. Experience in trajectory design and analysis using low- and high-thrust propulsion systems, navigation accuracy analysis, and mathematical software development is essential. Knowledge of space systems engineering and technologies for generating Digital Elevation Models is also required.

Benefits: This is a fixed-term appointment with an initial duration of 4 years, which may be extended up to a maximum of 8 years depending on performance and organizational needs.
