Established in 2022, the Impact Accelerator powered by the London School of Economics identifies, invests in, and accelerates the most promising social enterprises with ‘social unicorn’ ambitions – creating impact on the scale of billions. These social enterprises are addressing the world’s most pressing social problems, spanning health, climate change, social inequality, and more. Based in the London School of Economics and anchored with a £50 million philanthropic gift, the Impact Accelerator aims to leverage the data and knowledge within the LSE to identify critical gaps and levers within pressing social sectors, and then find enterprises with solutions to those problems.

The post-holder will be joining a growing team working to build and launch the Accelerator, and will work closely with the whole team in order to present Accelerator activity to both the LSE community and the wider world. The role involves building an internal and external communications strategy, including managing our communications to our global community of ventures, partners, and accelerator applicants, a communications calendar of events, and the Accelerator’s brand, including refining the organisation’s website and voice. A critical part of this role will also be helping Accelerator-backed social enterprises amplify their stories, impact, and learning. The post holder will also be responsible for managing the Accelerator’s event strategy and the annual “Summit Day” for each cohort of social enterprises.

Candidates should have:

  • Substantial relevant work experience at an accelerator, programme design and delivery studio, or social impact investment or grant environment
  • Experience of developing and delivering successful communications and public relations strategies focused on social impact
  • Experience of producing, creating, and uploading original copy, e.g. website copy, news stories, blog posts, press releases, marketing materials, newsletters, annual reports
  • Knowledge and experience of using social media tools, such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, to support the work of a department or organisation
