IB Extended Essay Teacher

ISSOS is seeking an IB Extended Essay Teacher for our summer school program in St Andrews. This role is an exciting opportunity to lead our International Baccalaureate Extended Essay course, aimed at helping students aged 13-18 from around the world.

The role: As an IB Extended Essay Teacher, you will conduct seminars and interactive skills workshops, supervise individual research periods, and ensure students make significant progress on their Extended Essays. The curriculum includes essay writing, oral presentations, public speaking, independent study, and time management. Your goal is to equip students with a structured plan for their essays and the skills needed for future academic success.

Job requirements: Applicants must have previous teaching experience, preferably with international students, and should be currently undertaking or have recently completed postgraduate research work. Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate course is essential. Fluency in English and strong classroom management skills are required.

Benefits: The position is fully residential with accommodation provided in all locations. Meals are provided once students arrive. Staff members receive £2,200 GBP per session, with the potential to earn £4,400 GBP for the full contract. Travel expenses up to £150 are reimbursed.

Additional information: All staff must pass a full criminal background check. Staff are required to participate in evening programs and activities on a rotational basis. This role is suitable for UK citizens or those with the legal right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available.
