Role Summary

The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Novamoon Project Manager to join our team at ESTEC in Noordwijk, Netherlands. This role is crucial for the management of the NovaMoon project, which is a demonstrator mission aimed at deploying the first lunar-based differential, geodetic, and timing station on the Moon’s surface. This mission is part of ESA’s integrated Moon exploration strategy, developed in cooperation with multiple ESA directorates and international partners such as NASA and JAXA.
The role: As the Novamoon Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the NovaMoon project from mission phases B to E. Your duties will include the implementation of the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of the NovaMoon payload builds and relevant ground segment. You will lead the NovaMoon Project Team within ESA, ensuring effective coordination and supervision of activities, and promoting a strong, collaborative team spirit.
Job requirements: Candidates must hold a master’s degree in engineering or a related field, with at least 4 years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, candidates with a bachelor’s degree complemented by an additional four years of relevant professional experience can be considered. Essential skills include multidisciplinary knowledge of space systems engineering, technical knowledge of global navigation satellite systems, and project management experience, particularly in satellite navigation projects.
