The European Space Agency (ESA) is internationally recognized for its groundbreaking space missions and contribution to space technology. ESA is seeking enthusiastic and experienced On-board Computers and Data Handling Engineers for its Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality in the Avionics and EEE division.
- As a part of the team, you will provide expert technical support across all phases of ESA projects, contribute to feasibility studies, project reviews, and evaluations of procurement proposals.
- The role involves identifying critical development issues and assisting in their resolution, as well as contributing to the definition of technology development requirements, roadmaps, and work plans.
- Candidates should possess a Master's degree in electronics, electrical engineering, networks, telecommunications, or related field with 10 years of relevant professional experience. Proficiency with FPGA/processors/microcontrollers, single-point-of-failure-free circuit design, and radiation-hardened components is essential.

The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking two On-board Computers and Data Handling Engineers to join our team at the ESTEC site in Noordwijk, Netherlands. This opportunity is within the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality, specifically in the Data Handling Section of the Avionics and EEE Division.

The role: As an On-board Computers and Data Handling Engineer, you will provide expert technical support and consultancy to ESA projects across all phases. Your responsibilities will include participating in feasibility studies, project reviews, and evaluations of procurement proposals. You will also identify critical development problems and assist in their resolution. Additionally, you will contribute to the definition of technology development requirements, roadmaps, and work plans for the Agency’s technology programmes.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in electronics, electrical engineering, networks, telecommunications, or a related field. You should have at least 10 years of professional experience in the design, review, simulation, and verification of end-to-end processing chains and data handling architectures. Experience with FPGA/processors/microcontrollers, single-point-of-failure-free circuit design, and radiation-hardened components is essential.
