The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking multiple Telecommunication Systems Engineers to join our team at the ESTEC site in Noordwijk, Netherlands. This role is within the Telecommunication Systems and Techniques Section of the Radio Frequency Systems Division, which is part of the Electrical Department in the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality.
The role: As a Telecommunication Systems Engineer, you will provide expert technical support and consultancy to ESA projects and programmes throughout all project phases. You will be involved in feasibility studies, project reviews, and the evaluation of procurement proposals. Your tasks will include identifying critical development problems and assisting in their resolution, contributing to the definition of technology development requirements, and managing R&D activities. You will also foster new application areas for multidisciplinary activities, emphasizing innovative concepts and technologies.
Job requirements: Candidates must hold a master's degree in telecommunications, electrical, or computer engineering. A PhD in a relevant domain is considered a plus. You should have a good knowledge of architectures and technology/techniques for satellite telecommunication systems, covering both physical and upper layers. Experience in satellite telecommunication systems analysis and design is highly valued. Knowledge of modern computer systems and programming languages is required.
