Role Summary

  • Be part of the OpSTAR In-Orbit Demonstrator team, focusing on overall system engineering activities

Role Requirements

The European Space Agency (ESA) is excited to announce an opening for an OpSTAR System Engineer at our ESTEC site in Noordwijk, Netherlands. This role is a part of the FutureNAV programme, specifically working on the OpSTAR In-Orbit Demonstrator, which focuses on validating a system concept using optical links for positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT).

The role: As the OpSTAR System Engineer, you will be integral to the system engineering and operations for the OpSTAR In-Orbit Demonstrator. Your responsibilities will include supporting the implementation of the overall OpSTAR system engineering activities, focusing on system architecture and design, requirements engineering, and internal and external interfaces. You will also support the definition and maintenance of mission or system end-to-end architecture, operations concept, and integration and testing. Additionally, you will contribute to the technical definition and specification of the OpSTAR IOD operations and support the project procurement of future industrial activities.

Job requirements: Candidates should hold a master's degree in a relevant domain with at least four years of relevant professional experience, or a bachelor's degree with an additional four years of experience. Knowledge in system engineering, satellite navigation systems, and ESA and industrial development processes is essential.
