Role Requirements
- A master's degree in a relevant field such as Signal Processing, Earth Science, Computer Science, or Data Science.
- At least 6 years of relevant professional experience.
- Expertise in EO applications and a deep knowledge of the European EO industry.
- Experience in interacting with European and international security stakeholders is essential.

The European Space Agency (ESA) is excited to announce an opening for an ERS-EO Security Applications Engineer at our Earth Observation Programmes Directorate, located at ESRIN in Frascati, Italy. This role is a fixed-term appointment initially for 4 years, with the possibility of extension up to 8 years based on performance and organisational needs.
The role: As an EO Security Applications Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the European Resilience from Space (ERS) programme, which aims to enhance Europe's EO capabilities for security stakeholders. This involves the rapid development and consolidation of EO-derived information systems and supporting the creation of Security Resilience Nodes across Europe. Your responsibilities will include integrating EO application and service developments into these nodes, supporting capability developments, and ensuring that the requirements from these nodes translate into R&D activities within our Future EO programme.
Job requirements: You will need to have a master's degree in a relevant field such as Signal Processing, Earth Science, Computer Science, or Data Science, along with 6 years of relevant professional experience. A PhD is considered an asset. Your role will require in-depth expertise in EO applications, a comprehensive understanding of the European EO industry, and extensive experience interacting with European and international security stakeholders.
