Role Summary

The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a highly skilled P120C/P160C and Solid Propulsion Programme Manager to join our Flight Programmes Department within the Directorate of Space Transportation, located at ESA Headquarters in Paris, France. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the technical and programmatic implementation of the P120C/P160C programme activities, ensuring alignment with the Ariane 6 and Vega-C/E programme developments.

The role: As the Programme Manager, you will serve as the technical focal point for the solid propulsion activities of European-developed launchers Vega and Ariane 6. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the completion of the P160C development and qualification, managing future static firing tests, and activities aimed at production robustness and rate increases. You will also provide technical support to the solid propulsion activities in the Vega-C/E programme, ensuring full coherence and compatibility with the Ariane 6 and Vega-C/E launch systems.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will hold a master's degree in a relevant domain and possess at least 10 years of relevant professional experience, including strong technical know-how in solid rocket propulsion and launcher system technical domains. Experience in project management and the ability to interact with industry are crucial. Fluency in English and French, with a working knowledge of the other, is required. Knowledge of another Member State language is an asset.
