Role Summary

The European Space Agency (ESA) is seeking a Policy Officer to join the Director General Support and Relations with Member States Section, within the Director General and Council Support and Relations with Member States Division, located at the ESA Headquarters in Paris, France. This position is a part of the Director General's Cabinet in the Director General's Services.

The role: As a Policy Officer, you will be responsible for the overall orchestration of institutional relations between ESA and your assigned Member States within a structured Member State partnership management framework. Key responsibilities include acting as the primary interface and strategic partner relationship manager for the assigned Member States, ensuring proactive engagement and structured dialogue, and positioning Member States as strategic partners. You will coordinate and deliver timely responses to requests for information, analyses, and policy support, and provide tailored briefings, strategic assessments, and institutional guidance aligned with Member State priorities and ESA's strategic objectives.

Job requirements: The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in a relevant domain along with 4 years of relevant professional experience. Required skills include knowledge of ESA's mandate, activities, programmes, policies, and institutional framework, experience in multilateral decision-making processes, and proficiency in drafting high-level diplomatic correspondence, speeches, presentations, and publication contributions. Proficiency in English and French, the Agency's working languages, is essential, and knowledge of additional Member State languages would be considered an asset.
